Who We Are

The Lakeshore Regional Wellness Commission is an organization of volunteers committed to the implementation of repurposing the Ashern Curling Rink to a state-of-the-art wellness centre. The Curling Rink building was built in 1974 and was a hub of curling activity until 2017, when the ice plant required replacing. With declining membership, the Curling Club folded, and the building was turned back to the RM of West Interlake for management.

Our Business Concept focuses on community health and well-being. Our purpose is to encourage and promote healthy lifestyles, physical and mental well-being to all demographics of our communities.

The building will become a multi-use, multi-generational facility. Included in the conceptual design are a walking track, exercise/gym area, court area for activities such as shuffleboard, pickleball and indoor soccer, virtual golf, yoga, dance, art and music studios, and more! The building will include state-of-the-art meeting rooms and office space as well. The Wellness Centre will be a place to meet and enhance your well-being through physical, mental and social interaction.
